Literature Text

Denmark knew Norway loved children. He could always see an elusive smile show up on his partner's face whenever they went for walks in the park together and passed by children running, chasing, and playing with each other. His eyes just looked so gentle and caring and his smile looked so calm and almost freeing. Denmark just adored the way Norway's face looked every time he set eyes on a child. It was enough to make him want to see it every day if he could. They'd been together for several years now, and they had even considered getting married again, so why not?

Gathering his courage one evening, he watched Norway sit on the couch and read a book.
"Hey Norge," Denmark said, walking into the room. Norway groaned, closing his book. So much for having a nice, quiet, peaceful evening. He was probably going to have to spend the next few hours listening to the loud Dane talk on and on.

"What do you want?" He said, not the least bit happy as Denmark sat down next to him.

"I've been thinking….." Denmark began, trying, for once, to choose his words carefully.

"Since when did he ever do that?" Norway thought to himself. Still, he kept his face emotionless as he said, "I'm listening."

"So…. I've been thinking…" He said, starting again. "Aw, Heck. You know I Love ya' Norge, and I was wondering…. Would you like to have kids some day?"

The book that had been previously in Norway's hands sailed through the air and hit Denmark hard on the forehead.  "Ouch!" he yelped, pressing a hand to the spot where the book had hit him.

"No." Norway said coolly, standing up abruptly and walking out of the room.

"Come on, Norge!  Why not?" Denmark whined, following Norway towards the kitchen.

"It's simple." The shorter man responded, not even stopping to look back at Denmark. "I don't want to have kids with you."

"But, How Come?"  Denmark continued.

Norway stopped. "How do I put this?" He said, turning around and folding his arms across his chest. "I have a hard enough time as it is trying to stay sane with you around. What makes you so sure I want to have another one of you in miniature?" he asked, his expression still blank, save for the twinge of annoyance reflected in his eyes.

Denmark grinned. "What makes you so sure they're going to be like me? For all you know, they could end up being like you."

Norway rolled his eyes. "Yeah, well, with my luck, they're more likely than not to turn out like you. No, Thank you." He scoffed, turning and walking away again. "Besides," he added. "Taking care of kids takes a lot of time, effort, and responsibility. I honestly don't think we'd be the best parents."

Norway felt Denmark grab his wrist and spin him around to face him.

"But… We took care of Icey when he was younger…" Denmark pointed out. "He didn't turn out so bad, did he?"

"True… I suppose." Norway agreed. "But…. How are we supposed to have kids? I'm a man, I can't get pregnant." He said, turning to another concern at hand.

"It's happened before." Denmark said. "It's not entirely impossible."

"Honestly," Norway sighed, looking away from Denmark. "What made you come up with this idea?"

"Do you want to know?" the Dane said, tipping his partner's chin up so that he could look into his eyes. "It's because you look so happy whenever you see children, and every time I see you smile, it makes me fall even more in love with you." He paused. "Please, we'll make this work, I promise." He said, pulling Norway closer to him.

Norway avoided Denmark's gaze as a fluorescent pink blush rose to his cheeks. "Was I really that obvious to him?" he wondered. It would've been a complete lie to say that he didn't want to have kids with Denmark. He did. He honestly did. Part of him wanted to, yet the word "no" still tingled on the tip of his tongue. Maybe it was just his usual pride and stubbornness that was holding him back, maybe it was something else…he looked back into Denmark's eyes. They were so sincere…. and so full of hope… and love… and…..

That did it. Who was he kidding? He wanted this just as much as Den did.

"Fine." He huffed, wrestling himself out of Denmark's arms. "Just leave me alone now." He turned and walked away.

All of a sudden, Norway felt himself being bowled over and tackled to the ground.

"I Love you so much Norge!" Denmark cried, kissing Norway over and over again.

"Okay, Okay, I love you too. Now get off of me, idiot." Norway said, struggling to get out from under his partner.

"You've just about made me the happiest person on this planet." He crooned happily, nuzzling Norway's cheek.

"Weren't you already that?" Norway pointed out.

"Well, You've made me even happier then." Came the response.

"You're ridiculous." Was all the Norwegian had to say.

"Hey…  I just realized something." Denmark said suddenly.

"What?" came the reply.

"I just realized just how kinky this looks." Denmark responded.

Norway responded with a jab to the ribs. This response however, did nothing to deter his lover.

"Maybe we should start now." Denmark whispered seductively into Norway's ear.

"Idiot." Norway said, squirming uncomfortably for a minute before giving up and kissing his lover, slowly undoing his shirt as he did so.
(*In response to ~Dewdropmon's question: "Are you guys gonna have kids?" *)

It hasn't been working so far, Idiot.
Oh come on! Don't give up just yet, Please?
Did I Ever say I was gonna give up?
Well.... No, But......

(* My First Dennor Fic. And this is how I feel about it: Fail story is fail. Cheesy story is cheesy. Redundant sentences are redundant. I get this nagging feeling that i might've gone OOC somewhere.

So... anyways, Going back in time to the moment when Den and Norge decided that they wanted to have kids. yay for Flashback fiction!

Random fact that i recently learned and referenced in the story: Denmark has been statistically proven to be the happiest country in the world. Quite fitting, if i dare say so myself.

Geez, I Really need to come up with human names for them.

I Hope this meets your standards, Miss Dew. I'm sorry, the artblock persisted. This originally started out as a drabble, but then it expanded to become a one-shot. I hope you understand. :iconbowplz:

Don't Worry, :iconblackbutlerfan:, Your question is up next, provided the art block will go away. Your question seems more like the kind that warrants a drawing answer rather than a writing answer. It will be amusing, at the very least.

and :iconmattietehstairninja:, Please wait your turn, yours will come after Blackbutlerfan.

Anyways.... *Goes over to regular account to continue working on her other [neglected] project: The Swan Princess/Lietpol crossover. * *)

You're right about the 'it's happened before' part Denmark. I mean, Austria gave birth to America, Canada and Seychelles.
Switzzy's right, so don't worry. It'll work for you two eventually.
